Porsche has an incredible lineup of cars.
In fact, the brand is one of the very best at producing street-legal sports cars that smash it on the track, too.
Now, the Stuttgart group has set more lap records.
But not with the car you might expect.

Porsche produces some of the best cars in the world
As you probably know by now, Porsche produces some of the best sports cars on the planet.
Ever since the creation of its first car, the 356 in 1948, the German giant has been at the forefront of the car world.
Aside from being major players in the sports car market, the Stuttgart brand has evolved in recent years.
It’s SUV models – the Cayenne and Macan – are some of the best-selling SUVs in the world today.

And, interestingly, they have started to make a real impact in the Electric Vehicle (EV) world.
Recently, the guys from the YOUCAR YouTube channel decided to test one of Porsche’s EV cars against the legendary 911 sports car.
And the result might well come as a shock.
Taycan takes on 911 at Formula 1 track
If you are a Formula 1 fan, then Interlagos will be a name that is very familiar to you.
The legendary track is located in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has hosted the Brazilian Grand Prix every year since 1973.
Now, it has played host to an event that Porsche fans might regard as being even more important.
Felipe Nasr competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Porsche, and recently, he was dispatched to Sao Paulo, bringing more than just carry-on luggage with him.
In fact, he packed the carmaker’s most powerful EV – the Taycan Turbo GT.
Having been dispatched to the track, he took the Taycan Turbo GT out to see what he could get out of it.
And he got a pleasant surprise.
The standard Porsche 911 Turbo S set a solid time of 1.43.087s.
The Taycan, after putting in a hot lap, came in with a time of 1.42.1s – nearly a whole second faster than its gas sibling.
This time made it the fastest EV ever to lap around Interlagos.
The topic of EVs replacing traditional supercars has long been contentious.
But perhaps now Porsche is one step closer to bringing an end to that debate.
