Why is Maserati called Maserati?

Maserati was founded on December 1, 1914 in Bologna, Italy, by automotive engineer Alfieri Maserati – one of the famed Maserati brothers.

As you may have guessed, the marque was named after its founder.

What year did Maserati start making cars?

Although founded in 1914, it was more than a decade before the first Maserati car was produced.

The Maserati Tipo 26 – a Grand Prix racing car – was launched in 1926 and a total of 11 examples were made until production wound-down in 1932.

Where are Maserati built?

Maserati was founded in Italy and it remains in Italy today – although its headquarters have moved from Bologna to Modena.

The company also has a plant in Turin.

How many Maserati cars are built per year?

Maserati likes to keep its cars exclusive and has a production cap of 75,000 per year.

However, the cap hasn’t been called into force just yet, with Maserati creating around 27,000 units in the year 2023 and 26,000 units in 2022.

What notable car models does Maserati make?

It’s hard to mention Maserati without mentioning its iconic MC20 supercar, isn’t it?

Launched in 2020, the MC20 comes with a 3.0 liter V6 engine that can produce up to 630 horsepower.

It can do 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in under 2.9 seconds and has a top speed in excess of 325km/h (201mph).

Not only that, but it’s a Maserati so it – of course – looks incredible.

So, yeah, it’s a pretty impressive bit of kit, all things considered.

Which is the most expensive Maserati?

The Maserati 5000GT Touring, which was launched back in the late 1950s, has a valuation of around $2,500,000.

Taking a look at current vehicles, the 2025 Maserati MC20 supercar has an estimated starting price of around $243,000.

Which is the cheapest Maserati?

Look, if you want a Maserati in your garage, you’re going to need deep pockets, OK?

Even on the cheaper end of the scale, a Maserati Ghibli comes with a starting price of $109,500.

So, while it’s half of what you’d pay for a MC20, it’s still not exactly cheap.

What is the fastest Maserati?

That would be the Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo, which is designed for ‘those who belong in the fast lane of exclusivity’, according to the marque.

The Quattroporte’s powerful V8 engine can produce up to 580 horsepower.

And that power translates into speed, quite a lot of speed, with a maximum speed of 326km/h (202mph).

Speed is something Maserati does very well, and the MC20 isn’t too far behind with a top speed of 325km/h (201mph).
