The love of these surfers for the sea took things to the next level, and they customized a Toyota Tacoma into the ultimate wave machine.

The old but powerful truck was stripped down and fitted with an enormous wooden plow to create the waves for surfing.

It took a considerable amount of time and effort to build this unique vehicle, and the costs weren’t insignificant. However, the fun and excitement it provided made every penny and hour spent worth it.

Toyota Tacoma transformed into the ultimate wave machine

The complete journey of this wild project is covered on YouTube by Ben Gravy, who popularly posts his surfing videos on his channel.

Toyota Tacoma was chosen for this project for its raw power and torque, which were the required things to make waves big enough for surfing.

The truck was heavily modified, with a large portion of its body removed.

That was necessary to keep the weight of the vehicle as low as possible.

Big plyboards were then sandwiched together to push the water as intensely as possible.

The customized vehicle might not last long

It took a lot of trial and errors to get things right, and it wasn’t exactly an easy task to begin with.

That’s why Ben took help from his friends and his dad for the task.

Operating in a sandy, swampy bay was no easy task, especially with water constantly threatening to flood the engine and axles.

The Tacoma’s durability was being tested to its limits, and it’s unlikely to last long in such harsh conditions.

Who knows how long the customized Toyota Tacoma will last, but it has provided plenty of laughs and enjoyment to Ben and his surfer friends.
