A Tesla Cybertruck owner in America has noticed an unusual issue with his EV after he encountered heavy snowfall.

TikTok user @jf.okay posted a video on his account that highlighted the potential design flaw.

The problem stems from the headlight design of the Cybertruck, and what happens to them in heavy snow.

Given that several parts of the USA suffer from heavy snow, this looks like a fairly serious problem to encounter.

Heavy snow could block the lights of the Cybertruck

The TikTok user walked viewers through the front of the Tesla EV.

While doing so, he highlighted the large light bar that runs across the front of the Cybertruck.

However, these are not the headlights, but instead a large daytime running light.

The actual headlights are located just above the front bumper, below where the grille would traditionally be.

As the camera panned down, it didn’t take long to spot the issue with the truck.

Snow had built up massively around the headlights, to the point they were completely blocked by it.

While the Cybertruck headlights are very powerful and bright, they won’t be able to punch through the snow like that.

The TikTok user is concerned by the potential issue with the Tesla

The snow appears to have gathered on a shelf above the bumper and below the headlights.

Hence why it can suddenly block them.

While he’s not had any issues so far with the Cybertruck in the snow, jf.okay is concerned he might be about to face some.

To put it into context, he showed us the headlights on without snow and then filled the shelf back up again.

Without the snow, we can see just how bright the lights on the Tesla are.

Filling the gap with snow blocks the light, with just a faint glow visible through it.

The owner says he hasn’t found anything from Tesla about this potential issue with the headlight design.

For some who live in drier parts of the USA that hardly get snow, this will never be a problem.

However, for those who live in the colder parts, it could be an issue.

It’ll be interesting to find out if heavy snow can cause havoc when trying to drive with the headlights on.
