Tesla has been working to improve the power consumption of its EVs, particularly in reducing phantom drains when parked.
One Tesla owner named Chris recently put this claim to the test.
He left his Tesla Model Y unplugged for 10 days at the airport to check the amount of battery drainage once he was back.
The results were quite impressive, to say the least.

The owner, Chris (@TheEvryDayChris), shared the video on his X account.
Despite being unplugged for straight 10 days, the battery of his Tesla Model Y only dropped by 1%, from 80% to 79%.

Chris was surprised at the minimal battery loss.
Although he disabled the power-draining features like Sentry Mode and Cabin Overheat Protection before leaving the car, just one percent of battery drainage in 10 days is still mightily impressive.
Using the Tesla mobile app, he was able to monitor the charge remotely, which remained nearly unchanged.
Tesla clearly wants to lead the EV market by bringing in improvements to its batteries.
In a similar vein, another Tesla owner revealed how their car’s battery remained unaffected after driving 155,000 miles.
People shared their thoughts on the test
Car enthusiasts were quick to share their thoughts on this 10-day test.
One user commented: “This is not normal for any EV with a lithium-ion battery.
“You should expect to lose [one percent] every day under mild temperatures.
“It will be worse in cold weather.”
Another user humorously said: “I left my car at the airport for 30 days and the fuel bar never reduced.”
However, one person was genuinely impressed, stating: “That’s very good. Expected to lose more.”
