Tesla is now selling a Cybertruck-themed cat bed

Is there anything Tesla CEO Elon Musk won’t turn his hand to?

He’s having a crack at the electric car industry, social media, and even space.

Now it looks like he’s exploring another potential market – cat accessories.

It may sound like a really bad April Fools’ joke, but it’s really not.

As bogus as it sounds, an unusual listing has been spotted on Tesla’s China website.

The listing shows a “Cybertruck Multifunctional Corrugated Cat Bed”.

Basically, it’s a cat bed made out of cardboard – and it looks like a mini Cybertruck and even has a Tesla logo.

A rough translation of the listing says “Cybertruck has a futuristic shape, a semi-open cat litter, and thick corrugated paper embedded inside to meet the nature and daily needs of cats.”

Hang on a sec – did they say cat litter box? But we thought it was a cat bed…

If the Chinese listing is anything to go by, it’s actually a cat litter box.

Definitely looks like a cat bed, though.

The listing also states that the product needs to be self-assembled and that it has a price tag of 89 yuan ($12.34).

You’re out of luck if you’re a pet owner elsewhere in the world, though, as the Cybertruck-themed cat bed is only available in China.

Sounds like a strange market for Elon Musk to explore, but it’s not really; he loves felines, and even has his own white cat named Schrödinger.

Besides, a cat bed is just one of a number of bizarre Tesla merchandise rollouts to end up on the web.

A few years ago, Musk sold a limited number of red Tesla shirt shirts that said ‘S3XY’ on the back.

More recently, Musk rolled out a perfume called “Burnt Hair” via his infrastructure company, The Boring Compnay, retailing at $100 a bottle.

What does Musk have up his sleeve next?
