After the Koenigsegg Gemera, the Rimac Nevera R is the second street-legal car to join the exclusive 2,000-horsepower club.
Despite being marketed as a track-focused hypercar, the Rimac Nevera R is also street-legal.
It is now the fastest EV car in the world.

Fastest EV in the world: Rimac Nevera R
The new and improved Rimac Nevera R is a 2,107hp electric hypercar.
It is definitely an improvement from the standard 1,888bhp version of the car.
Like the standard Nevera, it can do 0-62mph in 1.81s.
However, the Rimac Nevera R can reach 186mph (300kph) in 8.66s rather than 9.22s.
Another difference is that the track-focused version of the car comes with a 108-kWh battery pack instead of 120-kWh.
Next-generation Rimac battery
According to Rimac, the lighter 108-kWh battery pack supports higher discharge currents for faster speed.
Although the battery might reduce the range of the car, the extra current bumps up the power output to 2,107hp.
“Built around the C, the Nevera R leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver more power, more efficiently, but in a new, lighter package. With 2,107hp, it hits 300km/h (186mph) in 8.66s,” states their website.
Don’t worry about slowing down as the Rimac Nevera R also gets new brakes to help control its speed.
However, the Croatian automaker Rimac Automobili will only be producing 40 units of the track-focused hypercar.
The standard version of the hypercar has also broken several world records.
And it seems like the company is not stopping there.
“We are building a track car, a single-seater that’s going to be faster than any race car for most tracks. Faster than Formula 1, faster than Le Mans,” says Matt Rimac, CEO and founder of RImac Automobili.
This upcoming track car will have a closed cockpit and be built on a platform unrelated to the one in the Nevera.
