This woman lives with a rare disease and since switching her 2004 Toyota 4Runner to a Tesla Model 3, says she feels so much more at peace.

In a message to Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt, this man revealed why he and his wife rely heavily on their new Tesla Model 3 and its FSD capabilities.

The man’s wife suffers from Ménière’s disease, a rare inner ear condition that affects balance and can cause instant dizziness.

The man said that the FSD capabilities have brought them ‘peace’ knowing that if she was to have a flare-up behind the wheel, the car would take over driving.

Their old car caused a lot of anxiety for the couple

Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt recently shared the direct message he received from a follower on X.

The man described the struggle his wife had with Ménière’s disease, a rare inner ear condition that causes someone to have random sudden bouts of dizziness.

In their old car, a 2004 Toyota 4Runner, the couple always worried that she would have a flare-up while she was behind the wheel.

“She’ll be fine one second, then the next her world is spinning. Our biggest fear has always been – What happens if it hits while she’s driving? What if our two children are with her?” he said.

As her flare-ups got more frequent, she stopped driving altogether.

The couple credit the Tesla EV with restoring her freedom.

The Tesla model 3 has restored her freedom

The couple purchased a Tesla Model 3 specifically for its FSD capabilities.

Even though the FSD capabilities of Teslas have recently been called into question, the FSD on the EV is more than capable of taking over momentarily.

It has brought the couple joy as well as a sense of peace and security that their car has got their back if she suddenly gets a flare-up on the road.

“I can’t even express to you the sense of peace and security I feel now while driving that I haven’t felt in 20 years,” she said.
