The Hummer EV and the Tesla Cybertruck are two of the biggest names in the electric truck world, but which one is better?

A YouTuber decided to find out, and the results might surprise you.

The 2025 Hummer EV comes packed with features, but it also comes with a hefty price tag.

With a starting price of $98,000, it’s more expensive than both the Cybertruck and the Rivian R1S.

Hummer EV vs. Tesla Cybertruck: Is the extra cost worth it?

The story is documented on YouTube by Shelby Church, who takes a deep dive into the crab-walking Hummer EV’s features.

Shelby says that one of the coolest things about the Hummer EV is its convertible Infinity Roof.

The roof panels can be removed, giving an open-air experience, but storing them in the front trunk can be a bit tricky.

They don’t fit perfectly without careful placement, which can be a hassle.

Unlike the minimalistic interior of the Tesla Cybertruck, the Hummer EV has many physical buttons, similar to what you’ll find in the Toyota 4Runner.

It makes it easier to adjust settings without taking your eyes off the road.

The infotainment system is a massive 13.4 inches, but Shelby revealed that it’s not as user-friendly as the one you find in a Tesla.

“The UI of the screen, I’m not a huge fan of, it’s hard to beat Tesla’s,” Shelby said.

Inside, the Hummer EV uses a synthetic leather alternative that feels more like performance fabric rather than luxury material.

A perfect vehicle for work on the go

One big advantage of the Hummer EV is its spacious back seat, which even includes a 110V outlet.

This makes it a great option for people who need a mobile workspace.

Talking about the spacious interior, Shelby says, “Over in the back seat it’s really roomy back here and I like that they put an actual 110v outlet so you can charge things”

The wide interior also offers plenty of room for laptops and other devices, making it ideal for work on the go.

While the Hummer EV is fun to drive with the roof off in the city, it gets quite noisy on highways.

Thus, despite its convertible feature, most owners might not use it often.

“Overall, I think the Hummer EV is pretty cool. It’s not the cheapest option but it’s really the only option if you want a convertible SUV that’s electric,” she said.

“It’s a good option for someone who wants an electric truck or SUV and just doesn’t want to buy into the Tesla ecosystem.”

So, the Hummer EV might just be it if you’re looking for a perfect alternative to the Tesla Cybertruck.
