What would happen if you hooked up Elvis Presley’s private jet to power for the first time in 40 years?
That’s the question its new owner is asking after buying it at auction a month ago.
Thankfully, we get to see exactly what happens because he documents the process from start to finish.

Once owned by the king of rock and roll himself, the private jet has been sat abandoned in Roswell, New Mexico for the past four decades.
Time has certainly taken its toll on the 1962 Lockheed 1329 JetStar.
Its red and silver livery is faded and flaking from years in the sun.
And that’s just the damage that’s visible to the naked eye.
The four engines and most of its cockpit instrumentation was all removed years ago.
Thankfully, its new owner YouTuber Jimmy’s World was put out of his misery when someone loaned him a ground power unit.
Hooked up to power, Jimmy hurtled up the jet’s stairs and inside the cabin to assess what was going on.
The first thing he noticed was the aircraft’s lighting had come on, as had some of the instrumentation lighting in the cockpit.

Making his way to the back of the jet, he tested the microwave in the galley – which worked – as well as the toilet, but it still wouldn’t flush.
Much to his excitement, both the radio and TV powered up too, although he couldn’t get a channel on either.
Sat in the cockpit, Jimmy fiddled with many of the instruments, finding the taxi and landing lights both working, as well as the jet’s radio equipment.
The video is an interesting watch, as Elvis Presley’s private jet appears to be somewhat of a time capsule.
The harsh reality is that $234,000 is a lot to spend, and Jimmy’s got a big job ahead of him if he wants to not only bring it back to life but also restore the jet back to its former glory.
