In the auto world, it is quite common to see abandoned cars in barns, but it’s not often that we see an abandoned car factory that used to produce many supercars.
A video showcasing one such factory built by Pininfarina in Italy shows the plant left in ruins after shutting down.
The plant started functioning in 1986, and various cars were built there until 2011.
However, the factory is now heavily vandalized and there are only a few videos that document how the plant looked before that.

Abandoned car factory
Although in the present, the plant lies heavily vandalized a documentary filmed in 2021, showcasing the state of the abandoned factory.
The video was uploaded on the Forgotten Buildings YouTube Channel in 2023, but the footage was filmed in 2021.
Pininfarina built the plant to make the bodies for the Cadillac Allanté, which had an odd assembly process.
After the Allanté went out of production, the plant was briefly used to build the Ferrari Testarossa and the Peugeot 406 Coupe.
Other than these cars, Pininfarina also built the Alfa Romeo Brera and Spider before the factory’s shutdown in 2011.
We can still see a few Brera test cars, left on the testing grounds of the abandoned car factory.
State of the plant after years of abandonment
These cars have since been taken away for scrapping purposes.
It’s a shame to see such historic cars being abandoned and eventually scrapped.
However, the factory floor still looks good in the video despite being closed for over a decade.
Despite so much time passing, the abandoned car factory still had machines and robots for the assembly line.
The entire factory floor still looks good.
There are also some of the diagrams for how to build the Brera at the stations.
Unfortunately, the plant had to shut down after the 2008 financial crisis and shows no signs of a resurgence in production.
