Finding a Lincoln Continental Mark V these days can be way beyond challenging, but someone found an abandoned example from decades ago, and it even came with a handwritten note from its original owner.
Notes like these are like historical memoirs and can prove to be super useful for potential project cars like the Mark V.
The car, however, was in pretty bad shape — at least, that’s what it looked like at first.
But the personal note left by the owner did shine some light, and it wasn’t actually that bad after all.

Abandoned Lincoln Continental Mark V looked mysterious at first
Mike from the YouTube channel Monkey Wrench Mike found this long-abandoned Lincoln Continental Mark V catching dust in a parking lot.
In a video he posted about it, he said it was a ‘boat’ hiding in the corner of the parking lot.
He had high hopes for this rare beauty and thought it would be in above-average condition.
As he got closer to the car, he immediately noticed the damage on the outside.
Time wasn’t fair to this classic luxury car — but then again, it never is.
It had been sitting in one place for several years, just like this abandoned luxury Jaguar that also suffered greatly.
However, there turned out to be a silver lining after all.
The doors were sealed, which allowed the interior to survive.
Barring some ‘normal’ wear and tear, the interior could easily be made to look new with not a lot of work.
A ray of hope from the handwritten letter
This Continental Mark V might not be as fancy as the Jubilee Edition, but it looked incredible regardless.
As Mike was looking around, he found a handwritten letter inside the cabin.
It was signed by someone named Ron, who said that he got this Lincoln Continental Mark V from the owner’s son.
According to the letter, the car had its entire electricals reworked and had several parts replaced.
Despite that, it needed a new carburetor because he couldn’t get under the dash due to health reasons.
Hopefully, someone will give this Lincoln the attention it deserves and bring it back to life.
Maybe they could also reach out to Ron, just like this man who contacted a 1990 Pontiac’s owner.
