There’s something special about pushing your car to its absolute limit and seeing how fast it can go — and watching an iconic old Chevy and a Ford go over 200mph is just the cherry on top.
Seeing these two iconic legends breaking past 200mph in a drag race is quite exhilarating indeed.
Take a look as these incredible sports cars compete in the ECTA Horsepower Harvest Event in Arkansas, a premiere American asphalt top-speed event.

Old Chevy and Ford sports cars going full throttle
The ECTA Horsepower Harvest Event takes place at Blytheville Aeroplex in Arkansas.
At the event, we see many different sports cars try to break speed records in the quarter-mile, half-mile, one-mile, and two-kilometer categories.
One such car is a 1957 ‘Old Stewball’ Chevrolet Bel Air with 1,150hp and a torque of 903lb-ft.
The old Chevy first competed in road courses and drag races in 1960 with its final drag race being in 1978.
Fortunately, the owner of the car decided to take it out of retirement.
He also upgraded the old Chevy Bel Air into a beast of a racing machine.
Eventually, the car was able to hit a top speed of 217mph in 2018.

However, that’s not the only iconic car that stood out at this event.
MKI Ford GT40 hits the race track
The MKI Ford GT40 needs no introduction as it was built with the singular purpose of embarrassing Ferrari and winning the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The 1968 variant of the car does have a top speed of 211mph.
However, the GT40 present at the event could only go up to 157mph.
It seems that the car may have been a replica, which would explain the difference in performance.
Regardless, it’s nice to see iconic cars like the old Chevy and Ford go all out on a drag race track.
