This American sports car just gave the Koenigsegg a run for its money by smashing a speed record.
The Czinger 21C blew the reigning champ of speed out of the water at the Laguna Seca.
Having previously knocked it out of the park at the Goodwood Hillclimb and the Circuit of the Americas, the stage was set for the Czinger to deliver at Laguna.
As you can see, it definitely did deliver.

Records were made by Koenigsegg – so that the Czinger could break them
The Koenigsegg had completed a lap in an eye-watering 1:24.86.
Impressive by any stretch for sure, but how did the Czinger stack up?
Well, it clocked in an astonishing 1:24.75.
Yep, it was that close.
For those of you who don’t want to do the number crunching, that’s a mere tenth of a second.
But that’s all it took for the Czinger to dethrone the Koenigsegg and consign it to second place.
It’s not unusual for the Koenigsegg to have rivals or challengers – just take a look at how the Pagani Zonda compares.
With an 11,000-rpm twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors producing 1,350hp, it’s little wonder that the Czinger edged out the competition.
For some perspective, this allows the car to accelerate from zero to 60mph in a mere 1.9 seconds, as reported by hotcars.
The president of Czinger Vehicles speaks out
Speaking of their success at the Laguna, Czinger Vehicles’ president Lukas Czinger said: “Reclaiming the fastest lap at Laguna Seca is a testament to the relentless innovation and passion that drives Czinger Vehicles.
“The 21C continues to redefine what’s possible in the hypercar world, not just by setting records but by setting the standard for what a fully homologated, road-legal production car can achieve on the world’s most legendary tracks.”
The company’s founder and CEO, Kevin Czinger, shared in the praise: “To reclaim the fastest lap title at Laguna Seca is incredibly meaningful to our entire team.
“The 21C is more than just a car; it’s a symbol of the future of automotive engineering.
“With every record we set, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, not just for Czinger Vehicles but the entire industry.”
Given that Koenigsegg have been breaking their own speed records as of late, it’s probably a good thing they’ve been provided some competition to keep them on their toes…or wheels, I suppose.
