Arizona truck driver Lori Simba has racked up 4.5 million miles without a single lost-time accident.

This means she never had an accident that caused her to take time off work to recover.

She kept driving safely throughout her entire 35-year career.

Now, after more than three decades behind the wheel of a truck, Lori has just retired.

American truck driver who retired after 35 years of service

Swift Transportation announced Lori Simba’s retirement news on its official Facebook page.

“After an incredible 35-year journey and 4.5 Million Miles on the road, Lori Simba is hanging up her keys and entering her retirement era!” the company.

Lori Simba, along with Joakim Mwangi, the shortest truck driver in the world, have both shattered stereotypes in the trucking industry.

Lori’s journey began in 1988 with MNX, a company that was later acquired by Swift.

She stayed on, now working for the new company, and mentoring countless new drivers who joined.

After all, driving 4.5 million miles without a single lost-time accident is no joke – meaning, no accident in her entire career that let her to take a break from her work.

Time for her to enjoy her retirement

In her retirement message, Lori expressed gratitude for the respect and love she received over the years.

“Thank you for all the wonderful memories and for treating me like an equal,” she said.

While 35 years of service is impressive in any line of work, there are others, like Doyle Archer, a 90-year-old man and officially the oldest truck driver, who have no plans to retire anytime soon.

For Lori, it’s clear she had an incredible career, and we wish her a wonderful retirement ahead.
