This bizarre 2002 Dodge Intrepid appeared on Facebook Marketplace and has been branded a ‘Ratmobile’.
You’ve heard of a Batmobile, like this one created by a super-fan based around The Dark Knight.
But a Ratmobile is a whole different ball game.
And no, it doesn’t have a tail. Cars like the Toyota Pod have that covered.

What is the Ratmobile?
Despite its name, there’s not anything about this car that makes it appear particularly rodent-like.
With a small plate on the nose, fenders and rear bumpers all featuring prominently, it’s fair to say this car has a bold look.
It wouldn’t look too out of place being driven in a spy movie.
However, whether or not the car’s concept has been fully fleshed out isn’t quite clear.
As reported by motorious, the car still looks like a Intrepid rather than being its own unique creation.
What did the internet make of this car?
As with many rare cars, this one found its way to Reddit where users reacted to the design.
Things weren’t off to a great start as the person sharing a photo wrote: “What in abomination is this Christine look alike based on?”
One commenter joked: “That’s not Christine, that’s Chris.”
Another wrote: “Christine was a ’58 Plymouth. This is a 1998-04 Dodge Intrepid with a 1958 Dodge front clip and ’57-58 Plymouth fins slapped on.
“Some people have far more time and money than sense and taste.”
Ouch.
However, the feedback wasn’t all bad.
One Reddit user said: “This thing rules. It’s a cartoon car.”
It was also touted as being a good candidate for the new Batmobile in the Robert Pattinson series.
As it stands however, there wasn’t a whole lot of love going around the poor Ratmobile.
Perhaps a more appealing name might help shift public opinion?
