On a trip to visit Hawaii, this young couple faced a huge dilemma after working out that their Cessna 150 couldn’t fly from mainland USA due to fuel limitations, but shipping the airplane would be worth the hassle.

Few places in the world are as pretty as the islands of Hawaii.

But getting to the remote Aloha State isn’t as straightforward as it seems, even if you have a plane.

This young couple found that out the hard way, but once they got their Cessna 150 up and running, it was worth every ounce of struggle.

Couple forced to dissasemble Cessna 150 to reach Hawaii

Where cars fail, buying abandoned airplanes has become quite a trend.

A hike in Cessna activity saw young Americans get the aviation bug and visit the wide offerings that the US houses.

But the couple behind the YouTube channel Fly Me to the Fun has faced issues getting to every state, particularly that one tricky off-shore customer.

The duo decided that they wanted to visit the volcanoes on islands of Hawaii. But they instantly met with a dilemma.

After doing the math, it turns out that their Cessna 150 would have landed in the middle of the Pacific. Why? Because their fuel would have run out.

Even the addition of extra fuel tanks wouldn’t help as the additional weight would have reduced the range even further.

So, in order to reach Hawaii, they were forced to disassemble the Cessna 150 plane… And then have it shipped over paradise.

As they took the bigger Boeing airplane over to Maui, the Cessna 150 traveled by sea. Once there, the couple met up and rebuilt it.

The plan was to fly the plane to the ‘big island’ – aka Hawai’i – to visit recently erupted volcanoes from the skies.

So, was it worth the trip?

Of course.

Despite Cessna planes costing an ‘obscene’ amount to maintain and upkeep, this Hawaiian adventure proved to be a struggle that paid dividends.

The YouTube upload showcased the couple cruising through the skies. They saw views unattainable by car, witnessing cliffside waterfalls that ran right into the sea.

While the landing saw them play chicken with Boeings filled with holiday sun chasers, the nippy little Cessna 150 led to unimaginable views.

The overhead view showcased where the lava had rolled down from Mauna Kea and left black rock, or basalt, scattered everywhere.

The young couple plan on taking the plane up to the volcanoes in another upload. In it, they teased images of exploding pockets of magma.

Not a bad flight at all from the cheap little Cessna 150. Even if they did have to take it apart to get it there.

Other Cessna owners are pushing the plane to the limits in cross-country sprints despite having very little flying experience.

Gotta love the American spirit of adventure!
