Chinese carmaker BYD showcased the incredible stability of its Yangwang U7 suspension system by having martial artists performing on top of its roof while the car was driven along.
Well, that’s one way of doing it.
The Yangwang U7 was unveiled in April 2024 and went into production in March of this year – it is available as either a plug-in hybrid or as an all-electric.
It also comes with BYD’s DiSus-Z active suspension technology, which offers a very smooth ride – so smooth, that you can carry out some martial arts moves atop one while it’s in motion.

Chinese carmaker BYD has created an impressive suspension system
BYD has pulled out all the stops when it comes to showing off the suspension system of its new car.
In January, BYD shared a clip showing someone being able to use the Yangwang U7’s unique suspension to complete a marble run using their cell phone.
No mean feat, right?

But if you thought that was impressive, wait until you see a martial arts master managing to hold an incredible Wing Chun balancing act on top of one.
In a clip shared by the Chinese carmaker, the Yangwang U7 can be seen steadily driving along with a couple of performers balanced on top of it.
The clip then cuts to the car appearing to do a cute little jiggly dance as one of the performers bows to the vehicle.
Things are then cranked up a notch as a man manages to juggle while standing on top of the Yangwang U7 while it’s going over some speed bumps. Impressive stuff, right?
The clip then cut to a martial artist balancing on the roof on one leg while it tackled more speed bumps.
How does the suspension system work?
The Yangwang U7 uses BYD’s DiSus-Z electromagnetic suspension system, which is lightyears ahead of your stock standard hydraulic one.
The system is integrated with the U7’s Light Detection and Ranging (also known as LiDAR) and cameras so that it can make predictive adjustments in real-time by scanning the road in front of it.

The system scans the road as it moves along and can anticipate any bumps or dips so its able to adjust itself accordingly.
But it’s not just its suspension that’s impressive.
The Yangwang U7 can do 0 to 100km (0-62mph) in just 2.9 seconds, has a top speed of 270km/h (167mph), and produces up to 1,282 horsepower.
The carmaker says its huge 135.4kWh battery is able to provide up to 720km (447 miles) range and that it is 0.195 drag coefficient.
