Buying old cars to salvage what’s left of them can be rewarding sometimes, but it can also turn absolutely disastrous in no time — which is what happened with these creators who bought a heavily modified Honda Civic.

The Civic in question looked like a project car and appeared as if someone went all-in while transforming it.

However, it only ‘appeared’ to be in decent condition.

When these creators got inside the car, they faced something that we hope no one ever has to.

Creators bought a Honda Civic to salvage its engine

Guys from the YouTube channel Mighty Car Mods came across a ‘new’ bold green Honda Civic and bought it to get its engine out.

As hopeful as they were, it didn’t go all too well in the end, which was clear from the video they posted about it.

It was no ordinary Civic either — and had modifications done up to the brim.

There were five TV screens inside, custom audio, and entirely custom interiors.

On the hardware side of things, it featured Honda’s B-series B16 engine that once had a turbocharger, but was missing.

There was also water inside the cylinders, so it wasn’t anywhere close to decent condition.

However, the creators had hoped that they would be able to build the engine after taking it out so they could eventually put it inside another car.

Shocking discovery inside the trunk

Although their $4,500 purchase had potential, there was something baffling waiting.

You see, the car had gone through several owners and couldn’t find another one.

Why was that, you ask?

It had more than one species of animals residing inside it and had an extremely moldy smell.

A stench is normal for cars sitting in one place for long durations, but then again — this was a special case.

To make things worse, they found something even more disastrous after popping the trunk open.

It wasn’t as bad as this discovery inside of a Facebook Marketplace car, but it was still pretty bad.

The duo concluded that the trunk was the source of the stench, but this wasn’t just any ordinary situation.

Someone had been using the trunk as a public urinal, which was causing all the problems.

That’s probably why the car never found any buyers, and after coping with the situation, the duo eventually managed to take out the engine.

We hope they got rid of this Civic because it certainly didn’t deserve a restoration despite how capable it was.
