An American YouTuber who bought Elvis Presley’s jet successfully managed to turn it into an RV in around 18 months.

The jet/RV is also already road-ready, and you can drive it from the cockpit.

In a new video shared to his channel, the guy behind this project explains how you can drive it, and it’s truly fascinating.

The YouTuber – who goes by Jimmys World – managed to turn the carcass of a jet into an RV that works in just 18 months.

But even so, he is well aware that there’s a lot more work to be done.

The seats in the cockpit, for example, are in bad shape, and the same goes for the headliner.

The good news is Jimmy says these are all temporary issues, as new seats and headliner panels are already on the way.

Elvis Presley’s jet is an RV with a plane’s cockpit

The cockpit looks 90 percent the same as it did before it was converted into an RV.

Jimmy only added a few things.

There’s a new transmission, right below the yoke on the left-hand side of the cockpit, and a new ‘camera system’ to keep track of what’s going on in the blind spots, of which there are certainly many.

But other than that, it basically looks the same as before.

A relatively uncomplicated cockpit…for a plane

As far as cockpits go, this one is relatively simple.

One of the most complex and jaw-dropping cockpits we’ve seen is Concorde’s cockpit, which has so many dials and switches they had to use parts of the walls as well because they simply wouldn’t fit in the instrument panel.

The cockpits of fighter jets such as the B-2 or the F-22 Raptor are also confusing to look at—unless you’re a pilot, of course.

As for Elvis Presley’s jet, it obviously has more switches and buttons than – say – a car, but it looks relatively easier to deal with.

Obviously, in this case, so many of those switches and dials no longer work and are not connected to anything.

But no doubt Jimmy is going to share another video in the near future to break it down and explain what’s what.
