Texas-based hypercar manufacturer Hennessey put a lot of horsepower under a Cadillac Escalade.
After that, they set the Escalade up against a Lamborghini on a race track.
The drag race produced a result we wouldn’t expect.
The gap was even wider than we thought.

About the Hennessey H1000 Escalade-V
Hennessey calls it the H1000 Escalade-V.
The three-row, all-wheel-drive super-SUV now puts out 1,005 horsepower and 882lb-ft of torque, and it does 0 to 60mph in just 3.6 seconds.
This explains why it easily beat a Lamborghini Huracán EVO.
Hennessey will only produce 200 Escalade-V examples in total, 100 for the 2023 model, and 100 for the 2024 model.
A tuning firm turned manufacturer
Hennessey was launched as a tuning company that specialized in high-performance vehicles, especially American-made ones.
One of the first cars they created with the Venom 650R, based on a 1996 Dodge Viper GTS.
Hennessey then evolved and it went on to become a proper hypercar manufacturer.
They used the ‘Venom’ namesake to launch their first hypercar, which was initially based on a – heavily reworked – Lotus Elise/Exige.
The company has since modified and perfected its flagship vehicle, the Venom, which is now a 1,800+ horsepower monster.
It is also available with a manual gearbox, making it the fastest manual car in the world.
Hennessey has been competing for the title of world’s fastest car for years, occasionally snatching the record from the hands of various established players such as Bugatti.
Back in February 2014, the company’s Venom GT became the world’s fastest production car achieving a 435.31km/h (270.49mph) top speed.
If they can build an Escalade that’s faster than a Lambo, they can certainly also keep on fighting for that particular hypercar title.
