An aviation expert and jet tracker is saying Mark Zuckerberg has ‘upgraded’ his private jet and bought a new Gulfstream G700.
The Gulfstream G700 costs north of $80 million, but the price may fluctuate depending on how you spec it.
According to the tracker, there are two reasons why this must be Zuckerberg’s jet.
Namely, the jet’s route and call sign.

Why this jet tracker believes this Gulfstream G70 belongs to Mark Zuckerberg
The tracker in question is Jack Sweeney, an aviation enthusiast who made headlines in 2022 after getting into a public dispute with Elon Musk.
This eventually got him banned from most social media platforms, but Sweeney is still active on Bluesky, which is an emerging alternative to X.
According to Sweeney, this is Zuckerberg’s jet and he says so because of two potentially revealing reasons and two totally speculative ones.
Let’s start with the latter because, for starters, the new jet has the same Facebook-inspired livery as the Zuckerberg’s current jet, a Gulfstream G650ER.
Also, upgrading from a G650ER to a Gulfstream G700 is a natural move, the aviation equivalent of buying an iPhone 16 when you come from a 15.
More importantly, Sweeney notes that the new jet is following the same exact routes as the other one – almost to a T – and it uses the same call sign.
For reference, a call sign is a unique identifier assigned to a vehicle or an operator.
Remember Tom Cruise’s character Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell in Top Gun?
Maverick, his nickname, was actually his call sign.
Is tracking jets legal?
Jack Sweeney famously got into legal disputes with Taylor Swift and Elon Musk.
He’s also, in part, the reason why Taylor Swift allegedly sold one of her jets after being trolled for using it for a 13-minute journey.
So the question everyone asks is, is that even legal?
The abridged version of the answer is yes, it is legal.
The information the jet tracker uses is public record, although it should be noted that operators can ask the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to block things like their registration numbers from public view if they want to.
Also, earlier this year, U.S. Congress passed a law to make it a lot more difficult in order to protect the privacy of high-profile jet owners.
Mind you, we wouldn’t be surprised if they just banned it at some point.
