A YouTuber accidentally bought a Chevy Corvette that turned out to be more valuable than he thought.

He bought the car because of the low price, and he was fully expecting to be disappointed.

But the experience was not disappointing at all.

Not only was the car in better condition than he anticipated, it also had a gem of an engine.

A gem found by accident

YouTubers buy damaged cars all the time.

They do it because they love bringing old cars back to life, but also because the cars essentially pay for themselves with the YouTube videos they get out of them.

From the guy who bought the flooded McLaren P1 to the other YouTuber who spent months putting Marcus Rashford’s Rolls-Royce back together, viewers love these videos.

Sometimes these cars are duds but that definitely doesn’t apply to this Corvette.

In the clip shared by ScrapLifeLee, the YouTuber who bought the Chevy Corvette you see here, he explains how the engine is actually in better condition than I thought.

It has a supercharger, as advertised, and makes over 1,000 horsepower.

In his opinion, the engine has undergone modifications for at least $30,000, and it is in great condition.

Not bad considering, by his own admission, he ignored all the visible red flags and bought this car at a salvage auction.

The Chevy Corvette is still a timeless icon

The Corvette has been around for eight generations and 71 years, and it is still one of the most popular American cars ever.

While older models generally exert a more powerful pull, collectors love every Corvette, including the new one.

Even after switching to a mid-engine layout for the first time ever, the Corvette is still as popular as it ever was.
