Meta has teamed up with Ferrari to launch a limited-edition version of its Ray-Ban smart glasses.
The glasses are available in the Scuderia Ferrari colorway to coincide with the Miami F1 GP, and the best part about them is – unlike other smart glasses – they look totally normal.
Even though there’s nothing normal about them at all.
READ MORE: Apple reportedly finally adding iOS feature that Android has had for 15 years
When Apple unveiled the Vision Pro a few months ago, some users complained about the high price but also identified another potential issue.
It is bulky, heavy, and it’s conspicuous.
Wearing the Vision Pro, or Meta Quest, in public will make the user stand out like a sore thumb, and this limits the product’s use cases.
That’s what puts the Ray-Ban smart glasses in a completely different category.
They’ve got a built-in camera and speakers, a video call feature, and you can use them with WhatsApp and Messenger.
They even integrate Meta AI, which means you can use them to translate text or signs, identify objects in front of you, and so on.
And yet, they look like normal sunglasses.
We had the chance to test them and they’re great.
So they’re great, and they’re cool, and the Scuderia Ferrari collab makes them ever cool…er.
Ferrari will exceptionally be using a light blue livery instead of a red one for the Miami GP, as a tribute to the 70th anniversary of Ferrari in North America.
This is because, in the olden days, Ferrari used blue as its official color in the US.
Meta matched the livery with a similar colorway for its glasses, in addition to the other available options.
The Ferrari-branded glasses are also fitted with blue lenses, and adorned with the Prancing Horse shield on the frame.
The least expensive pair of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses will set you back $299, while the Ferrari x Meta collab ones cost $499.
