MrBeast’s Amazon Prime game show is set to become the biggest competition in TV history, boasting a $5 million prize for the lucky winner.

MrBeast is the world’s biggest and most famous YouTuber, and he has recently announced that he’s to host an Amazon Prime game show called Beast Games.

Much like the 25-year-old’s YouTube channel, the show will feature big games and even bigger prizes, including that $5 million jackpot, which is said to be the biggest prize ever offered on television.

He doesn’t like to do things by halves, does he?

The creator – real name Jimmy Donaldson – is known for his online prize giveaways, which have included incredibly expensive things, or just huge cash sums.

But now he’s got the backing of Amazon Prime Video, things are going up to the next level, it would seem.

If reports are to be believed, Donaldson himself is due a big cash reward, too.

We don’t actually have that much information about the show, other than the news that it has been given the go-ahead.

However, what little we do know from Amazon Prime is that it will feature 1,000 contestants and that huge prize in a ‘fast-paced and high-production format’.

We could have guessed that, though.

MrBeast’s Amazon Prime game show will set out to prove that there is room for crossover between YouTube content creators and mainstream entertainment.

If there was any doubt about that left, anyway.

Jake Paul and his brother Logan have broken out of the YouTube bubble and into the world of boxing and WWE wrestling, whilst KSI has also dipped his toes into the fight game, as well as hosting celebrity football matches and embarking on a successful music career.

Now, it’s MrBeast’s turn.

Donaldson will act as the host and executive producer of Beast Games, and the show will be exclusively available on Amazon Prime Video.

In a statement, he said: “My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms,

“Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud.”

Amazon MGM Studios head, Jennifer Salke, added: “MrBeast has captured the attention and imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, and all over the world.

“We are excited to work with Jimmy and his talented team to bring his brilliant, high production, and stakes-raising concepts to Beast Games for our global customers to experience.”

Vernon Sanders, Amazon MGM Studios head of television said: “When MrBeast first told us about his concept for the show, we were blown away by his ambition to make Beast Games the biggest reality competition series ever.”

Given the success of MrBeast’s Squid Game content, as well as his enduring popularity as the world’s most followed YouTuber, you’d have to say that there’s a pretty good chance it will be a success.

The date for MrBeast’s Amazon Prime debut hasn’t been revealed just yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
