Nico Rosberg had to abandon his $2 million Rimac Nevera at the side of a road when he accidentally activated the parking brake.
The German-Finnish racing champion shared the story to his YouTube channel, on which he has more than one million subscribers.
Touted as the fastest car in the world and capable of reaching 60 miles per hour in a whopping 1.74 seconds, it’s a real gem.
It’s certainly not something you’d want to desert at the roadside…so what happened?

Had Nico Rosberg driven a Rimac Nevera before?
This video wasn’t the first time that Rosberg was sat behind the wheel of a Nevera.
He’d previously driven one in Zagreb, Croatia.
This is a car with reputation – although its street cred was put to the test in a race against a Tesla Model S Plaid.
For this video, he was looking to do the acceleration test, to beat the set record of getting to 100km/h in 1.85 seconds.
But along the way, a few humorous – if not also frustrating – incidents occurred.
First of all, he accidentally locked himself out of the car.
You read that correctly – this Formula One champion left the keys inside the Revera and was locked out.
It’s a nightmare scenario for any driver and it was no different for a professional.
Let’s just say the video editor had to include a few bleeps to keep things PG.
One phone call later and the back-up key was delivered to him.
Rosberg remarked: “Imagine if I had both keys in the car…then I’d be in trouble.”
But that was a picnic compared to what happened later.
Getting stuck on the road
As Rosberg was driving to a Christmas party, disaster struck.
Well, disaster may be a strong word but this was a less than ideal situation.
Whilst driving along a road, the 39-year-old accidentally turned on the parking brake and didn’t know how to turn it off.
And as if the stars had aligned for a nightmare scenario, the car was spread across two lanes and was on the corner of a winding road.
Eventually, he was able to reverse it to the side of the road.
But that’s where it had to be left, as he was in a rush to get to his daughter’s party.
Fortunately, two friends in a red Golf GTI gave them a lift.
He made it to the party just in time, before heading back to the mountain to retrieve the Nevera.
At 9pm, the car was finally made drivable again.
