Police in Nottingham have found 22 luxury cars including Range Rovers hidden deep in the forest.

Whoever drove the cars there tried to hide them as best as possible, with some even parked inside bushes.

But the hiding spots clearly weren’t good enough as they were all uncovered by officers.

But officers had to employ some interesting methods to find them all.

Stolen Range Rovers recovered by Nottingham police

Between February and October, over 40 Land Rovers and Range Rovers were reported stolen, with one disappearing almost every 10 days.

The Newark officers worked tirelessly to track them down, using drones and walking for miles through forests and fields.

According to the official Nottingham police website, their efforts have paid off, with theft reports dropping to just three in the last three months.

“We’ve found cars hidden in the middle of nowhere, even inside bushes,” Nottinghamshire Police PC Lydia Day said.

“Our team has used drones, social media, and even spoken to farmers and local council workers to track these vehicles down.”

The stolen Range Rovers were abandoned in different rural locations, some well-hidden and others just left out in open spaces.

Police had to walk long distances through difficult areas to try to find them all.

Cars returned to their owners

With the help of farmers and landowners, officers were able to gather information on suspicious activities happening in the area.

More than half of the stolen vehicles have since been returned to their owners.

“Our officers have put in a lot of time and effort, and it’s good to see these efforts making a difference,” PC Day said.

Despite these successes, police are still warning Land Rover and 4×4 owners to stay alert.

After all, not every car owner is as lucky as the Ferrari owner whose car was located using the Apple AirPods left inside.
