This is the Synergy concept, a new prototype that’s just been unveiled by Polestar.

It’s an absolute stunner, and the Swedish EV brand should definitely put it into production.

It’d be a shame if it didn’t, as three young designers worked incredibly hard creating the “electric fantasy supercar”.

Polestar used to be one of Volvo’s sub-divisions but it became a standalone brand in 2015.

While Volvo focuses on safety and efficiency, Polestar devotes itself to style and excitement, and that’s why it constantly holds design contests.

The Swedish brand recently asked aspiring designers to pen its next concept car as part of its student design contest.

And the Synergy concept was the winner, clearly catching the judges’ attention with its stylish and bold looks.

The Synergy concept is a 1:1 scale model that looks like a cross between a spaceship and an endurance race car.

It’s got a futuristic exterior which includes a front fascia that looks like a hammerhead shark.

Then there’s giant fenders over both sets of wheels, and an integrated rear wing.

Measuring 15 feet in length and 3.5 feet tall, the low-slung EV’s unlike anything in the brand’s current lineup.

That being said, it does have some familiar-looking design cues, like razor-thin headlights and sculpted lines.

As for the cabin, the glass covering opens to reveal a single-seat interior.

It might be just us, but we think it looks like a streamlined version of the interior of the X-Wing from Star Wars.

And according to Polestar, the performance-oriented layout is meant to give drivers the sense of “floating comfort and control”.

Performance-wise, no technical details are available other than that it’s fully electric.

But, if we were to hazard a guess, it’s probably powered by a dual-motor powertrain like the brand’s past concepts.

The setup in the Polestar 6 roadster, the brand’s most recent concept, is a dual-motor that produces 870 horsepower.

It’s capable of 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Sadly, despite Polestar’s willingness to put past concepts into production, the Synergy is just a design study.

Although it probably won’t go into production, there’s still a chance to see the vehicle in person, though.

The stunning supercar’s going to be on display at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in El Segundo, California, in early October as part of the two brand’s new partnership.

It’ll also make appearances at select Polestar locations around the country.
