Supercar restorer Chris Slix took on the challenge of restoring a totaled Porsche GT4 in just a matter of days.

Even for an expert mechanic like Chris, it was quite a challenge but they managed to make the supercar road-worthy — well, sort of.

The car had previously been totaled in an accident when it hit a lamp post on a rainy day.

However, Chris bought the car in hopes of restoring it to its former glory.

Restoring Porsche GT4

The 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 was in very rough shape when Chris bought it from a Copart salvage auction.

He had hoped to drive the supercar on track roads and have some fun with it.

However, it was easier said than done, since the car needed to be fully rebuilt, as shown in his video.

The reason for the time constraint is an upcoming trip, so his team only had a few days to fix the car.

Slix had previously restored a wrecked Mercedes AMG GT and turned it into a Black Series model.

So if there’s anyone who can fix this totaled Porsche GT4, it’s him.

Making the car roadworthy

It’s not the first time we have seen a Porsche get restored to this degree, but it is quite impressive.

However, with the clock ticking, Slix only had a short amount of time to fix it, take it to the body shop, and upgrade it for track use.

Restoring the Porsche GT4 to the point that it is roadworthy was also quite a task.

The team had to chop it in half and refit a new front end.

They also had to fit a completely new interior, fuel tank, subframe, and running gear.

By the end, they were able to drive the car out of the shop.

However, it still had very bad handling, so more work must be done.

You’d back him to get it right in the end.
