Bad news… if you’re a Saudi Arabia player.
As it turns out, the Prince didn’t actually gift a Rolls-Royce to each player of the Saudi Arabia World Cup team.
The rumor began spreading after Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina 2 – 1 in the World Cup but, as confirmed by Fact Crescendo, it was indeed just a rumor.
However, the Prince was so stoked with the victory that he declared a national holiday to celebrate the win.

The rumor was that Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud was going to give each player in the World Cup team a brand new $450,000 Rolls Royce Phantom.

However, the player themselves denied this was true.
Twitter still blew up, though.
One said: “Wow, for winning a match? What if they win the cup?”
People are also talking about Saudi Arabia manager Hervé Renard.
Partly because he has a long track record of winning trophies with underdog teams, but also because he looks like an actor.
Specifically, fans are saying he looks like Jaime Lannister (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau) from Game of Thrones.
Renard also took to Twitter to dedicate the win to the people of Saudi and to rally their support for the next match.
“Thanks to all the Saudis for the show yesterday,” he said.
“Congratulations to the team and the staff for this game, I dedicate this victory to the Saudi people. We are waiting for your support next match!”
Where does the rumor come from?
The rumor is believed to stem from the 1994 World Cup when Saudi Arabia made it to the second round despite being one of the lowest-ranked teams.
After the team arrived back home, the king gifted a Rolls-Royce to striker Saeed Al-Owairan for scoring a goal against Belgium.
So, while there is no official word from Saudi Arabia, we’re certainly waiting with bated breath to find out if history will repeat itself.
