Somebody put a Tesla Cybertruck up against a Ford Raptor R in a quarter-mile drag race.

We already know that Cybertruck can be faster than most vehicles out there, so the fact it won is perhaps not surprising.

But the gap is so wide it’s almost inexplicable.

The Raptor R is left far behind, with the Cybertruck emerging as the clear winner.

Tesla Cybertruck vs Ford Raptor R

In the drag race test conducted by the team behind the SterlingsWildWest YouTube channel, the Cybertruck emerged as the clear victor.

The Cybertruck and the Raptor R only have one thing in common and that’s the fact they’re both pick-up trucks.

Everything else about them is different.

Cybertruck is designed to be a ‘disruptor’, with a never-seen-before design language that people either love or hate.

By contrast, Ford’s truck is a conservative, simple-looking truck.

Obviously the Cybertruck is electric and it puts out 845 horsepower.

The Ford Raptor R uses a 5.2-liter V8, loosely related to the engine that powers the record-breaking Mustang GTD, and it ‘only’ puts out 720 horsepower.

In terms of 0-60mph, the Cybertruck does it in 2.6 seconds while the Raptor R takes 3.7 seconds.

All of these differences where clearly reflected in the quarter-mile drag race.

The Cybertruck sprinted off the line and left the Raptor R for dead, and the gap only got wider with every inch.

When a quarter-mile drag race against Cybertruck goes wrong

Cybertruck Cyberbeast is apparently capable of beating anything and everything in a quarter-mile drag race.

The record-breaking Cyberbeast has so far managed to beat a Porsche 911, a Lamborghini Aventador and even other EVs, such as the GMC Hummer EV.

This shouldn’t be particularly shocking.

If there’s one thing EVs can do is generate enormous amounts of torque off the line.
