This Tesla Robotaxi mock-up is sending the internet into a frenzy

This weird-looking thing is a Tesla Robotaxi.

The picture is going viral on X, and people are losing their mind because of it.

The mock-up was created by soon-to-be Cybertruck owner, TeslaTruckClub on X.

Even though it looks (vaguely) genuine, it’s just a cleverly photoshopped picture.

The thing is, there’s no mention of it being photoshopped and the caption simply reads: “Robotaxi?”

For that reason, predictably, some people think it’s real and they’re taking to the comment section to do what the internet does best: have a contrarian opinion.

“[It is] going to have to be cheaper than that,” one user said.

“I hope the rear wheels don’t look like that,” another user wrote.

To be fair, we can think of at least three reasons why people might think this is legit.

First, TeslaTruckClub’s photoshop skills are nothing to sneeze at.

Both the vehicle and the page look like the sort of thing you might find on the Tesla website.

He even added pricing, performance figures and options.

Second, Elon Musk did say that sooner or later Tesla Robotaxis will be a thing.

He believes that owners will be able to use their vehicle as a robotaxi using Tesla’s Full Self Driving feature.

The third reason is Elon Musk’s authorized biography includes mentions of Tesla Robotaxi and a render that looks (almost) exactly like the one TeslaTruckClub created.

The front looks Model 3-ish, while the rear section vaguely resembles the Cybertruck.

It also has a minimalistic interior and closed off wheels.

It’s certainly unconventional and a bit ‘out there’, but at this point, we can expect just about anything from Musk.
