One of the Texas Longhorns players, Michael Taaffe, is being forced to give up his Lamborghini Revuelto supercar despite wanting to keep it for just one more year.

Taaffe, one of the University of Texas team’s star players, has had the luxury car in his possession for a while but will soon be forced to give it back.

This is because a deal with a luxury car dealership is set to expire, which means Taaffe can’t hold onto the car.

Naturally, the player wasn’t happy about it, especially as he planned on moving up to the NFL and wanted the car until he moved on.

The car was part of a Lamborghini dealer sponsorship.

The dealership in question was Lamborghini Austin in Texas.

The dealer had recently signed some of the Longhorns’ players as promotional partners over the past few years.

With that deal came the chance for players to make use of the Italian supercars.

The iconic vehicles were often used at recruiting weekends.

Taaffe, who is one of the Longhorns’ defensive backs, has driven around in a Lamborghini Revuelto hybrid supercar.

However, the DB plans on being called up to the NFL soon and was hoping to keep the car for one more year.

But his sponsorship with the dealer has now expired, even though he was under the impression he could keep the car.

The dealer hinted Taaffe could hold onto the Revuelto

Speaking to the 3rd & Longhorn show on YouTube, Taaffe pleaded with the dealer.

“The guy at Lamborghini Austin, Mr. Bruce Knox, if you’re tuning in — one more year,” he said.

It’s no surprise that the Texas Longhorns player wants to keep his hands on the supercar.

The Revuelto is Lamborghini’s latest step into the world of hybrids, following its experiment with the Sian hypercar.

Plus, the Revuelto is currently the most powerful Lamborghini ever made.

That is thanks to the huge 6.5-liter V12 and three electric motors under the hood.

In total, the Revuelto produces 1,001HP and 783LB-FT of torque. Figures that rival those of the Bugatti Veyron.

If he can’t get his wish and hold onto the Revuelto, Taaffe can at least tell his friends what an epic car he once drove.
