This BMW M8 raced Challenger and Charger Hellcats in Nevada

  • We all love a car race, especially between powerhouse vehicles
  • The BMW M8 took on a Challenger and Charger Hellcat
  • Suffice to say, the result was pretty conclusive

When a BMW M8 drag-raced a Challenger and a Charger Hellcat in the US state of Nevada, total annihilation doesn’t even come close to describing it.

There’s nothing quite like setting up juggernauts of the car against each other.

It really is a clash of the titans.

However, one car still has to come out on top, regardless of the speed of its competitors.

Where did this iconic drag race take place?

This race took place on The Strip in Nevada.

As noted by autoevolution, this isn’t the stretch of road in Las Vegas Boulevard renowned for hotels and casinos.

No, this Strip is at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

This venue opened in 1972 and the 1.5-mile track has played host to many races over the decades.

In 2017, it became one of the USA’s few four lane drag racing venues.

There’s something quintessentially American about car races.

Don’t believe us? Take a look at this Maryland dad who spent $100,000 on his own racetrack – before neighbors caused a big stink and got it shut down.

But four lanes won’t be needed for this particular race.

Captured by YouTube channel Wheels Plus, this race saw a F92 BMW M8 pitted against a Challenger coupe and a Charger Hellcat.

The M8 is powered by BMW’s 4.4-liter S63 twin-turbo V8 engine, with 591HP being generated.

In the competing lanes were two different Dodge cars.

Up first to bat was a white Dodge Challenger Hellcat, with a white and blue Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat waiting in the wings.

On paper, the Dodge cars should have this in the bag as they both had more power than the M8.

But how would things pan out on the track?

What happens when a BMW M8 takes on a Challenger and a Charger Hellcat

When the Challenger pulled up to the start line, it looked like the more domineering of the two.

But if ever were was a story of not judging by appearances, this would be it.

Whilst the Dodge got the upper hand straight off the bat, the BMW made up for lost ground in rapid speed.

Soon, it wasn’t even a contest and the Dodge was left playing catch up.

How would the Charger Hellcat far when compared to its cousin?

It may have looked like the quintessential race car with its blue stripes, but looks would only get it so far.

This time around, the Dodge didn’t even get the chance to take a lead.

We all love a good old-fashioned race, but it’s doubly impressive when one car clearly dominates.

This YouTuber took a Tesla Model S Plaid to track against a Lamborghini Revuelto and the speed difference was similarly stark there.

It seems like Teslas have form when it comes to races though, as demonstrated by this Cybertruck which took on a Porsche 911 Turbo S.
