Tom Cruise has a private jet that is a $20m flying palace.

The actor made a name for himself in Hollywood soaring through the sky in a military jet in Top Gun.

Now, he opts for a more spacious, luxurious ride.

What does Tom Cruise use his private jet for?

The 62-year-old Mission Impossible star is the proud owner of a Gulfstream GIV.

Cruise has held a private pilot’s license since 1994, and has a P-51 Mustang and a World War Two era fighter plane in addition to his GIV.

Is it any wonder he’s good pals with John Travolta, who is also a big aviation fan?

Beyond personal and professional travel, Cruise uses his GIV to deliver Christmas gifts to his famous friends – including Prince William and Princess Kate, who received a cake from Doan’s Bakery in LA.

For cross-Atlantic cake deliveries (A little niche, I concede), there’s no better option than the GIV.

The $20m jet was first brought onto the market in 1985, and has a maximum range of approximately 4,850 miles.

With two Rolls-Royce jet engine powering it, the Gulfstream IV can reach speeds of up to Mach 0.85 (561mph).

A need for speed – and also a jacuzzi

Should Cruise fancy jetting around his famous friends, his plane has plenty of room – up to 19 passengers can fly comfortably onboard.

The chairs have wide backrests, so need to fight for an armrest like on a normal flight.

One sofa even turns into a bed – but of a better quality than the sofa bed you might pull out when family come to visit.

With a spacious bathroom and a jacuzzi also onboard, you’re guaranteed to leave this flight feeling super refreshed.

But the best part of the jet has to be its cinema.

If you ever dreamed of binge watching movies whilst flying 40,000 feet in the air, find a way to befriend Tom Cruise.

Given that Cruise had previously admitted to watching one film each day, we can imagine the on-flight movie room gets put to good use.

It’s not just in the air that Cruise likes to travel in style, as he’s also the proud owner of a $50m car collection.

This puts him quite a way away from his second wife, Nicole Kidman, who admitted her main need in a car was ‘air conditioning’.

Fair enough.
