This man just spent a huge amount of money to transform himself into a wolf. 

Toru Ueda is a highway engineer from Tokyo, Japan, and it was his childhood dream to one day become a furry canine. 

So, at 32 years old, he made that happen.

Ueda commissioned the unbelievably realistic suit from Zeppet Workshop, a company that makes costumes for big motion pictures. 

While he does go out in public as his canine alter-ego, Ueda says he prefers to slip into it when he gets home after a long day of work. 

“When I wear my costume, I feel I’m no longer human,” he told The Times. 

“I’m free of human relationships. All kinds of troubles related to work and other things, I can forget about them. 

“When I look in the mirror, I see a wolf and that is very moving.”

Ueda wanted to make one thing clear. 

He wanted to make sure people knew he wasn’t a werewolf because that was a kind of monster and he wasn’t a monster. 

When he got the suit made, Ueda said it turned out exactly as he imagined. 

“My order to look like ‘a real wolf walking on hind legs’ was difficult to say the least,” he told Zeppet Workshop. 

“At the final fitting, I was amazed at my transformed self in the mirror. It was the moment my dream came true. 

“It was a kind of excitement I have not felt for a long time.” 

To help bring his vision to life, Ueda created a book full of images of real wolves. 

And together with the creators, they went through them to make sure even the smallest details were correct. 

So, what did it cost him to bring that vision to life? 

Ueda dropped three million yen on the costume, which converts to an eye-watering USD $21,000. 

But it’s a small price to pay to fulfill a lifelong dream, right?

Ueda isn’t the only one fulfilling his dream of becoming an animal. 

Last year a Japanese man named Toco spent two million yen (UD $14,000) on a custom-made Border Collie suit. 

Toco actually documents his walkies in the park on Youtube. 

And he even revealed he bought himself a dog crate, so he has somewhere appropriate to sleep at night.
