A supercar collector in Utah has taken delivery of America’s very first Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider.

Aston Martin capped production of the Valkyrie Spider at just 85 – meaning the cars are as rare as they are stunning.

Exotic car collector Supercar Ron was the first person in the US to take delivery of one.

Designed as a track-oriented car that is completely street-legal, the Valkyrie Spider packs a punch under the hood with a hybrid powertrain combining a 6.5-litre Cosworth V12 with a single electric motor that is capable of producing a staggering 1,160 horsepower.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider is a seriously impressive car

The Valkyrie Spider is a limited edition variant of the Aston Martin Valkyrie – the car that Gordon Ramsay once used to make a grilled cheese sandwich ‘like no other’.

While Ron didn’t decide to use the engine to make himself a quick snack, he did check out exactly what the Valkyrie Spider was capable of by taking it for a spin around the track at the Monticello Motor Club in New York.

In a lengthy post shared to his Instagram account, @supercar_ron shared his feelings on the car and it’s fair to say he was blown away.

The car ‘feels like witchcraft’

“I’m sincerely amazed that the Valkyrie is street-legal,” he said.

“It doesn’t feel like it should be. It feels full-blown race car, like I need a full-time team just to keep it going.

“And yet, in the softest suspension setting it rides just as nice as any other car. Compliant, easy to drive, nothing crazy.

“It feels like full-blown witchcraft. Magic. Like Luke used The Force to manipulate the car into something entirely different than the F1 car that it is.”

He went on to point out that this was the very first Valkyrie Spider in the whole of the US before listing some of the highlights of his new vehicle including its ‘shockingly awesome looks’ and its superior road presence.

“Revving an 1,160 hp V12 to 11,500 rpm is something I never thought I would experience,” he said.

He ended his post by saying the hypercar gave him ‘all the feelings’, which is fair enough – we reckon we’d feel the same.
