Saving up to buy a Bugatti Veyron is a dream come true for most, but just buying the car isn’t where the spending stops.

The Veyron is very much the sweetheart of the 2010s, where every millennial grew up adoring what was then the fastest car in the world.

Petrolheads in every corner of the globe would clamor to get a glimpse of the Bugatti in action, either on Top Gear or in real life.

But owning one nowadays is brutally expensive, as its annual service and oil changes cost a whopping $25,000.

Bugatti Veyron service costs more than most road cars

With the Bugatti Veyron costing millions to own, the supercar leaves its owners short of change whenever it comes into the garage.

One man found an issue in his newly bought Veyron that cost $4,500 just to be looked at.

Bugatti recommends that the Veyron should be serviced once a year, which includes replacing the engine, front and rear differential, and gearbox filters and oil, which can amass to a whopping 18 liters of fresh juice.

But even still, $25,000?

Well, according to the YouTube account Drivetribe, the real expenditure is the filters.

In a recent upload where they viewed a Bugatti Veyron being serviced by a supercar garage Simon Furlonger Cars, host Mike revealed that the filters cost thousands of pounds each to order from Bugatti.

Just a simple filter for the transmission, the cost is one grand. And it’s triple that when you come to the gearbox. Air filters require the car to be completely deconstructed from the rear, and here’s where your labor comes in.

The Bugatti Veyron service takes a colossal 27 hours of manpower.

The spending doesn’t stop there either, as Bugatti also recommends that the Veyron’s wheels and tires be changed regularly.

The supercar brand claims new tires are needed every 2-3 years, while the alloy wheel has a sell-by-date of 10,000 miles.

Of course, they don’t come cheap. That’s an extra $30k for tires and $40k for wheels.

Imagine if that falls on top of your service too.

The garage highlighted in this video claims that these prices are dealership rates.

They offer a cut price of $10,000 for a service and oil change, which is still steep, but a good fraction less than heading to Bugatti themselves.

Some Bugatti Veyron owners have found cheap alternatives to some fixes. But, for any prospective Veryonners among us, it might be time to become mechanics too and learn this trick for yourself.
