A man flew to Los Angeles to rent the oldest Ferrari – a 30-year-old bright yellow 348 Spider – he could find online.
The Ferrari 348 Spider has 86,678 miles on the clock and appears to have had a pretty full-on life.
Nonetheless, YouTuber Tavarish decided to rent it and take in a 300-mile round trip across two days.
What could possibly go wrong?

The 30-year-old Ferrari 348 Spider had some issues
Tavarish is no stranger to a beaten-up vehicle, he’s previously attempted to fix a Range Rover buried underground for a year and splashed his cash on a stripped Lamborghini Aventador that had been involved in a pretty full-on smash.
So a 30-year-old Ferrari 348 Spider is nothing out of the ordinary right?
Except it turned out the decades-old car had some pretty unpleasant surprises.
For starters, he noticed the mismatched tires – two 2019 Pirelli Cinturato all-seasons on the front and a couple of 2021 Nittos on the rear – and the fact that when he opened up the driver’s door the panel came apart.
Fortunately, he was able to pop it back into place, but there was less he could do about the large crack in its fog light.
But it wasn’t all bad news
That’s not to say, the e $2,000-per-day rental was all bad – especially not considering its age and mileage.
In fact, Tavarish was pretty happy with the Ferrari, particularly its drivetrain – a 3.4 liter (208-cubic-inch) V8 engine that produces 316 horsepower.
“Oh that’s nice,” he commented turning the engine for the first time but, thanks to typical LA traffic, he wasn’t able to open it up straight away.
While he was clearly thrilled to be behind the wheel of the classic Ferrari, it wasn’t without its problems.
The heating system initially only blew up cold air and refused to heat up until Tavarish revved the engine.
Not only that, but the Ferrari’s lack of power steering meant that he ended up with cramps in his foot. Ouch.
But despite the pain, and the $2,000, the car got him where he needed to go and overall Tavarish seemed pretty happy with the rental.
Sure there are easier ways to get from A to B, but would he have had as much fun? Probably not.
