Watch this burned and abandoned 1973 Chevy Nova get brought back to life

At first glance, this 1973 Chevy Nova looked like a non-starter.

Not only was it abandoned in a barn for 30 years, but it was burnt to a crisp in a barn fire.

So, why on earth would you even consider trying to bring it back to life?

Well, two guys actually set themselves the challenge of getting her going again.

In a video posted to the Junkyard Digs YouTube channel, the guys explain that the Chevy Nova was closest to the ignition source of the fire.

In other words, it got pretty toasty.

Despite the obvious cosmetic damage, the guys got to work inspecting the engine bay.

Pleasantly surprised by what they found, the inline-six seemed to be oily but in decent condition.

The plastic overflow tank bolted inside the fender even managed to survive, suggesting the fire never reached the engine.

The guys made some initial attempts at trying to start the Chevy Nova.

Growing frustrated, they moved on to changing all four wheels, and checking the brakes in the process, which appeared to still work.

Back in the engine bay, the motor was spinning over and with the carbon flushed out, they fitted a new starter motor.

Their perseverance soon paid off as slowly but surely, the Chevy Nova started showing signs of life.

Eventually, the muscle car fired up and started running freely on its own.

After getting her out of the barn and with a quick clean-up, the guys were soon on the road making their way back to the shop.
