No, you don’t need your eyes testing – this isn’t a dodgy-looking Ferrari 250 GTO.
It’s actually a 1992 Mazda Miata sporting a 250 GTO-inspired bodykit.
And, if it tickles your fancy it could be yours, as it’s currently for sale.

Talk about unique, it’s a Japanese-market NA Mazda Miata with a pretty hefty list of modifications.
According to the listing on Cars & Bids, modifications reported by the seller include TEIN coilovers, a Bride Low Max driver’s seat, and a Nardi-branded steering wheel.
It’s also got a radio block-off plate, aftermarket window switches on the center stack, and a footrest in the passenger-side footwell.
Oh, and a Monocraft body kit inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO.
The Mazda Miata is a right-hand-drive car that’s titled in New Hampshire.
Reportedly imported in 2022, it’s equipped with a metric instrument cluster and its odometer displays about 75,600 kilometers (approximately 47,000 miles).
Power comes from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, rated at about 118 horsepower and 101 lb-ft of torque.
It spins the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, and it’s got a 1.5-way limited-slip differential, too.
History of the Miata NA
Mazda launched the original MX-5 Miata (called NA internally and Eunos Roadsters on the Japanese market) for the 1990 model year.
Years in the making, it picked up where British and Italian roadsters left off by offering enthusiasts nimble handling and an open-air driving experience at a relatively affordable price.
The first Miata quickly attracted a cult following; demand far exceeded Mazda’s initial expectations.
Production ended in 1997, and the NA passed the torch to the “NB”.
Mazda Miata price
The current bid for the Mazda Miata stands at $9,200 with the auction ending this evening (Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 21:26).
The long and short of it is, the odds of parking next to an identical Miata at the next cars and coffee meet are incredibly low.
