This man bought a cheap Mitsubishi Evo but regretted his decision when he saw $1,800 worth of shipping damage.

According to the owner, it is the cheapest running Evo in the US.

So, he got quite a good deal but the car was eventually ruined because of the shippers.

Despite being such a great rally car, the condition of the vehicle leaves a lot to be desired.

Cheap Mitsubishi Evo purchase ruined by $1,800 shipping damage

Tyler Hoover from Hoovies Garage recently bought a cheap 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 for $7,000 and had it shipped to the US.

The car had been heavily modified but it was in quite a rough shape.

Despite being in such a poor condition it is still quite a rare car as Mitsubishi rarely makes cars anymore.

According to fellow content creator, Tavarish, the rarest car he owns is a broken Mitsubishi he acquired for $20,000.

Tavarish’s 1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT was also in quite poor condition when he bought it.

According to Hoover, the bumper of his Lancer Evo 10 was also completely totaled.

Not in great condition

After looking more closely he spotted an aftermarket intercooler, meaning the car had previously been modified.

However, the bulk of the damage has been done to the exhaust system.

Hoover predicted that when the Mitsubishi Evo was being loaded onto the truck, the exhaust must have gotten stuck on something and was violently pulled off.

And the shippers just shoved the exhaust into the back of the car.

Loading cars onto a truck might sound easy but it takes a lot of effort and precision.

If not done carefully it can easily damage the cars, as is the case here.

Fortunately, the car is driveable but has some serious issues, including sensor problems causing poor performance when the engine warms up.

However, Hoover still plans to fix the car before deciding to sell or keep it.
