An American YouTuber got slightly confused when he took his out-of-spec Tesla Cybertruck to be recharged, mistakenly taking it to a gas station.

YouTuber TeslaFlex needed to recharge his Cybertruck, but in a slight moment of confusion, he ended up showcasing that he had accidentally tried to refill the pickup with gasoline.

The YouTube short thankfully reveals he did see sense and took it to a Tesla Supercharger instead.

With many of us transitioning from gasoline to electric power, it’s perhaps understandable why he first went to the gas station.

A Tesla Cybertruck obviously does not run on gas

The video shows the American step into his Cybertruck and noting that it has just 15 percent battery remaining.

Naturally, his first thought was to head out and refill the EV’s ‘fuel tank.’

It will have shocked viewers and himself to see him stumble into a gas station and pick up the fuel pump before realizing the error of his ways.

The YouTuber questions in the video why he went to the gas station, and it’s likely he did so out of force of habit.

He probably isn’t alone in this, as heading to a gas station to refill our cars is going to be second nature for many of us.

Thankfully, the electric socket prevented the YouTuber from even putting the gas nozzle into the truck and beginning to refill it.

Out-of-spec Teslas are a rare affair

The YouTuber mentions at the start of the video that the Cybertruck, in Cyberbeast trim, that he is driving is out of spec.

These are not particularly common, but they do exist, and they can be out-of-spec for a variety of reasons.

Chiefly, the trucks won’t meet the specific standards specified by the manufacturer, in this case, Tesla.

Power figures might be higher or lower than specified, and the truck’s range could be outside Tesla’s stated range.

The YouTuber doesn’t elaborate in this Short on what exactly makes this Cyberbeast ‘out-of-spec.’

As we have mentioned, it could be for a variety of reasons.

Out-of-spec, however, clearly doesn’t mean it’s got a gasoline engine instead of an electric powertrain!
