A detailer found ‘the rarest car from the 80s’ – a 1986 Subaru XT Turbo – covered in dust and transformed it into a masterpiece.

The owner used it for rally racing and off-road driving.

Unfortunately, the car had also been left in his yard under some trees for a long time.

However, since he was selling it to someone else, the new owners wanted to make the car look great again.

Detailer transforms ‘the rarest car from the 80s’

The new owner commissioned Mitch from The Detail Geek YouTube channel to restore the car to its former glory.

According to Mitch, it’s the rarest car he has ever seen.

Although, he had also never heard of it before, so that might have had something to do with it.

Unfortunately, the car was filled with cobwebs and badly needed a proper clean.

However, there’s no telling what kind of things can be found inside cars like these, which are filled with debris and dirt.

Speaking of which, Mitch had previously also found a gun while cleaning a very old and dirty Ford F-150.

Now, that is an unexpected find.

Cleaning the 1986 Subaru XT Turbo

Despite being in such bad shape, it was still ‘the rarest car from the 80s’ and not without good reason.

At its launch, the Subaru XT Turbo was the most aerodynamic car in the US market.

However, it was hard to recognize it in this state.

So, Mitch took it back to the garage to give it a full glow-up.

Watching Mitch clean the Subaru is like watching an ASMR video, especially when the end result is so satisfying and different.

It reminds us of when he washed a 1974 Dodge Challenger for the first time in 30 years.

The first step included using a vacuum to clean the leaves and dirt on the surface of the car.

After that came the power wash, which completely cleaned the exterior .

However, the interior took a lot of vacuuming and scrubbing to remove the dirt from the seats and the covers.

Finally, it was time for the polish, after which the car looked as good as new.

What a transformation.
