Bugatti produces sleek, beautiful driving machines, but the automobile brand is also known for making the fastest supercars, so which is the quickest model?
Bugatti has, and always will have, a reputation for making the fastest cars known to mankind.
But as we head into the second quarter of the century it’s so far dominated, the company is ramping up the speed.
With new cars in the pipeline and a string of record holders, we look at the fastest supercars made by French marque.

Bugatti Divo – 236MPH

Starting things off is the Bugatti Divo. Despite having the same engine as one of the fastest supercars in the world, the Divo is the slowest – or least quick – in the Bugatti portfolio.
Now discontinued, the track-focused vehicle has many features that help with control, balance, and turning, which sacrifice a higher top speed.
It’s still incredibly powerful though, just as Alex Hirschi – AKA Supercar Blondie – found out.
The Divo comes in at 236MPH, and while that’s astounding, it’s bottom of the pile in this list of supercars.
Bugatti Centodieci – 240MPH

The lesser-spotted Bugatti Centodieci is a joy to witness, with a meaner, yet prettier look than most of its relations.
Limited to just 10 units, the Centodieci is a celebration of 110 years of class and excellence. But It’s slightly slower than the Chiron it’s based on.
Given that the Centodieci only has one base model and no improved sports modes, it’s top speed is 240MPH. So it only makes it second on the list.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire – 248MPH

The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is one of the only supercars in the range that isn’t built for pure speed.
The La Voiture Noire – translated as ‘The Black Car’ – is the third-most expensive car in the world to be sold first-hand.
It was designed to honor the ‘missing’ Type 57 SC Atlantic of Jean Bugatti, son of the founder, Ettore.
But, the beautiful one-off La Voiture Noire is no slouch, and clocks in an impressive 248MPH top speed.
Bugatti Veyron – 267MPH

This is where the supercar maker starts to ramp things up, leaping up 10 percent to 267MPH.
Once the fastest supercar in the world, the Bugatti Veyron set the bar for the entire fleet.
As the marque’s big entrance back into the supercar world, the Veyron – the 16.4 Super Sport version – broke the world record at 267MPH in June 2010.
It held that record until passing the torch to its stablemate.
To this day, the Veyron is the second-fastest supercar in the marque’s range and places fourth of the list of all supercars.
However, it’s likely to fall down the pecking order this year with many competitors that ‘claim’ quicker top-speeds. That said, most have yet to prove it, such as the Hennessey Venom GT.
Bugatti Mistral – 282MPH

Surpassing the legendary Veyron is the Mistral, as the 2024 supercar is its direct successor, using the same state-of-the-art engine.
Holding the record for the fastest roofless road car ever made, the Mistral smashed this feat in the Papenberg test in Germany as recently as November 2024.
The Mistral that recorded its 282MPH top speed is the first of the four record-breaking Bugatti cars all owned by one UK billionaire, who even sat in shotgun for the run.
Who knows, it may have been slightly higher without the passenger weight.
The Fastest Bugatti: Bugatti Chiron Super Sport – 304MPH

The fastest car in the world is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+.
To this day, the Chiron supercar is the only road-legal car to achieve speeds of over 300MPH – or 304MPH in its record run by Andy Wallace – having secured that accolade back in 2019.
It’s now reigned supreme for six years. That makes the Chiron Super Sport the crowning jewel in the collection when it comes to speed and performance.
Fastest supercars bonus: Bugatti Tourbillon – 27MPH

The Bugatti Tourbillon is the Chiron’s successor and is set to release worldwide in 2026.
Despite having only been announced in June 2024, the supercar prototypes have been previewed by Supercar Blondie, who received a delivery of one of these magnificent beasts.
With increased technology in its aerodynamics, the Tourbillon is set to hit 277MPH in its base model.
However, much like the Chiron, which shoots up to 304MPH with its Super Sport 300+ version, it’s likely that Tourbillon will also have speed-enhancing variants in the future.
Given its in-house competition in the fastest supercars race, the Tourbillon’s biggest threat is the Bolide.
Fastest supercars bonus: Bugatti Bolide – 311mph

The Bugatti Bolide is now shipping around the world.
Two have already landed on US shores. One is being housed by supercar fanatic Manny Khoshbin, and the other has already been spotted tearing it around the Circuit of the Americas.
Bugatti claims that the Bolide can hit 311mph, which would land it top of the fastest supercars list, beating its Chiron Super Sport 300+ sister.
However, this has yet to be proven on a road or track.
The French manufacturer will likely be wanting to pen the Bolide in for record speed testing soon though.
Because it faces heavy competition from the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut which claims a 330MPH top speed.
That’s a supercar competition we can’t wait to see.
