Peregreen 2 is currently the world’s fastest drone.
This impressive quadcopter is created by a father and son duo from South Africa.
How fast is the world’s fastest drone?
Can you guess the top speed of this one-of-a-kind drone?
It reached an incredible 317 mph.

The average speed of the drone is 298.47 mph.
Even the fastest cars in the world can’t touch the speed this homemade drone has reached.
And you know what’s even more surprising?
The world’s fastest drone is made with 3D-printed carbon fiber.
The lightweight and sturdy material is the reason behind Peregreen 2’s success.
Also, the duo made sure to use larger and better components to surpass the performance of their earlier model, which had reached 247 mph.
The drone operates on batteries with remote control, and the duo took the expertise of aerothermal engineer Chris Rosser for that.
The challenges with the Peregreen 2 project
While the simple design might hint at the Bells’ easy success, this was a challenging task.
According to Luke, it was the most frustrating project he had ever worked on.
The most frequent and persistent issue was overheating and problems with the motor wires.
Homemade projects are never easy, just like the air-powered plane that surprised everybody with astonishing real engine sounds.
The Peregreen 2 emits a distinct sound that you can hear from afar, and it feels like something is approaching at an incredible speed.
Their project has even made a Guinness World Record for the world’s fastest drone.
Similar to their project, the Bells and no ordinary guys either.
While Mike Bell is an architect known for designing the Mbombela Stadium for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Luke is a YouTube content creator and Sony ambassador.
