Fighter jet traveling at 150mph and coming to an instant halt is truly magnificent to watch

  • The video shows a HAL Tejas fighter jet touching down on an aircraft carrier
  • The fighter jet is traveling at 240 km/h – or 150 mph – as it touches down on the carrier’s deck
  • Despite traveling at such speed, the fighter manages to come to instant halt

Landing a fighter jet on an aircraft carrier’s 300-feet runway is no mean feat.

The pilot in the above video makes it look super easy, though.

The HAL Tejas fighter jet is traveling at speed – 240 km/h / 150 mph to be precise – as it touches down on the carrier’s deck.

Traveling that fast, the pilot will have everything crossed that the fighter jets would stop before the end of the runway.

Seeing it happen before your eyes really makes you question physics, but if the truth be told there’s a secret to it.

There’s actually a series of arresting wires that catch the fighter jet’s wheels and help bring it to a stop.

The footage is almost as spectacular as the plane spotted doing snow drifts and donuts.
