The Humvee is a renowned off-road monster. But having conquered land, could this beast harness a bit of Loch Ness spirit and drive completely underwater?
Well, these guys have put the Humvee to an aquatic test for the ages.
With a snorkel for the vehicle and scuba gear for the four passengers, this YouTube group has tried to drive the Humvee underwater across a small lake.
To little surprise, the Humvee didn’t disappoint.

YouTube group build an aquatic Humvee
Cars and water usually aren’t a good mix.
But more of our beloved vehicles are getting acquainted with the fish.
YouTube team Prodigy TV decided it was the Humvee’s turn to get its wetsuit out.
The military-grade car has already shown great performance with modded kits before, but this time, the team stripped the car back to its basic body and swapped the wheels out for something with more grip.

The YouTube team planned to drive the car from one side of a small lake to the other, with a filming crew riding on top.
To start, they removed the doors from the body to prevent being trapped inside (even with scuba gear), attached tank-like continuous chain wheels, and made an exhaust pipe that would remain above the water at all times.
Can it drive underwater?
Similar vehicles have managed underwater excursions – a submerged EV bulldozer for one.
But would the Humvee work?
In true fashion, no task for the vehicle is too small, and with its extended snorkel-exhaust system pumping away, it powered into the water, fully submerged, and cruised around the bottom of the lake.

The Humvee proved to be an impressive swimmer.
It arguably proved more successful as an amphibian than it does as a general road car.
The Prodigy TV team appeared to have a whale of a time, despite the car kicking up a lot of dirt into the clear blue water and inside its own body.
