In today’s episode of exciting barn finds, we take a look at a 1969 Jaguar E-Type located somewhere in Texas with an American surprise under the hood.
This 1969 XKE 2+2 Coupe had been sitting in the same spot since 1999.
Despite the exterior being covered with dust, the car underneath looked stunning.
And it’s not just any old Jag either, it’s a John’s Jag E-type with an American V8 under the hood.

Jaguar E-Type found in a barn
YouTuber Dennis Collins found the classic car in the barn of an old customer.
The 1969 Jaguar E-Type had been sitting there for 25 years.
Despite that, the interior of the car looked gorgeous as the owner had not let any critters nest inside.
The owner has done his best to properly maintain such an iconic classic car, just like the other vehicles in his collection.
He also owns a Jeep Scrambler and some British roadsters, like an MGB.
However, the Jaguar stood out from the rest, especially since it features a Ford 302ci V8 with a performance cam.
American V8 under the hood
Having an American V8 in a British car might sound heretical to purist Jaguar fans.
But many folks appreciate a clean conversion job and the extra power it adds to the car.
However, an all-original Jaguar is also worth quite a lot nowadays, so the owner might have missed out on a bit of money.
But this Jaguar E-Type is also quite rare with a modified hood featuring a “power hump” to accommodate the big V8.
And since the conversion was done by John’s Cars, its actual value may be even more than the original.
Interestingly, Jaguar is also bringing the E-Type back into production but only two examples will be made.
While getting the new version might be tough you can try finding an old E-Type like this one and restoring it.
