In a fascinating case of old vs new, there was recently a race between an all-new Kia EV6 GT drag race and a classic 1957 Chevrolet.
It is not only a race between a modern and a classic car but also a battle between an electric vehicle and a pure muscle car.
You will probably be surprised to see the results.

Kia EV6 GT drag races a 1957 Chevrolet
In the video above, uploaded by SSDracer, we can see both cars getting ready to drag race at a strip.
To be more specific, the race took place at Barona Dragstrip in Lakeside, California.
You can also hear the sound of a roaring V8 engine coming from the 1957 Chevrolet.
So, it is safe to assume that the classic car isn’t in stock and has likely been heavily modified.
Going against the classic Chevy is the Kia EV6 GT, which is faster than a Porsche Taycan.
Who won?
A futuristic all-electric CUV versus a legend of the 1950s.
Now, this is a drag race worth watching.
The Chevy is not exactly a lightweight either, as it was a member of the famous Tri-Five group.
And to everyone’s surprise, the 1957 Chevy left the Kia EV6 GT in the dust.
If it was a regular quarter-mile dragstrip, the all-electric Kia EV6 GT might have come out on top.
However, on a short course like the one at Barona, the classic Chevy won due to a faster reaction time and the mods hidden under its hood.
The Tri-Five Chevy won the drag race, despite the slower 7.82s versus 7.28s ET.
Although the all-electric Kia EV6 GT has a superior trap speed, it was hard to catch up with the pure muscle power of the classic Chevy.
However, this is just a one-off instance as some of the fastest 0-60mph cars are all electric.
